Job Summary:

The Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Coordinator, assigned to one of Pinkerton largest global clients, will provide strategic direction for the health, safety, and emergency response programs for the North EMEA region. The Coordinator assesses regulatory and industry best practices to develop and maintain internal OHS policies, standards, and training initiatives. This role plays an important part in leading safety investigations, supporting workers' compensation activities, and overseeing the Emergency Response Team. This position will have a hybrid work schedule (in office/remote).

Essential Functions:

  • Represent Pinkerton's core values of integrity, vigilance, and excellence.

  • Promote a healthy and safe workplace through employee engagement initiatives.

  • Provide strategic and technical consulting for a variety of health, safety, and emergency response programs.

  • Serve as the technical resource for all workplace and employee safety compliance areas.

  • Support the development and implementation of Health & Safety policies globally.

  • Develop, author, and sustain the training programs, procedures, and processes necessary for global, geographical, and regional operations.

  • Monitor, interpret, and assess existing or emerging OHS laws, regulations, regulatory policy, and industry practices.

  • Determine operational and business impacts and develop training material and processes to manage applicable or relevant requirements effectively.

  • Develop standard protocols to conduct routine inspections and audits to ensure continued compliance with site OHS requirements, commitments, and procedures.

  • Perform audits and reviews to identify systemic OHS training gaps, develop corrective measures, and implement solutions to sustain compliance with OHS law and company OHS strategies, policies, or standards.

  • Leverage lessons learned and establish continuous improvement of training programs.

  • Re-develop and implement company-wide employee safety and injury prevention training programs.

  • Design effective roadmaps for efficient prioritization and implementation of safety programs

  • Lead safety-related investigations and coordinate the development of action plans.

  • Support workers' compensation claims tracking, investigation, and management processes while partnering with Human Resources Workers' Compensation Program Manager on injury management and early return-to-work policy.

  • Provide oversight of Emergency Response Team (ERT) program and training.

  • All other duties, as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Certifications:

Bachelor's degree in occupational health, environmental engineering, or emergency management and/or five plus years of professional experience and occupational health and safety technician (OHST) and IOSH/NEBOSH certifications.   • Bi-lingual language skills; English plus European language.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Able to effectively collaborate with internal/external stakeholders and interface with all levels of management and employees.

  • Able to organize and prioritize workload efficiently.

  • Serve as an effective team leader.

  • Computer skills; Microsoft Office and Smartsheet.
