Position:

The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is hiring a Financial Technician for the State Office located in Boise, Idaho.

Responsibilities:

· Specialized financial record keeping, maintenance, review, verification, and support functions:

  • Use bookkeeping methods and procedures to prepare work/spreadsheets, standardize summaries and reports, and perform reconciliation.

  • Enter, retrieve, and edit financial data and prepare financial documents using automated systems and system software.

  • Research accounting systems and records to identify and correct errors in financial transactions.

  • Handle expense and revenue reconciliations.

  • Analyze financial data and craft reports.

· Accounts Receivable:

  • Post receipt deposits, including state, regional, and wire deposits.

  • Perform data entry for accounts receivable and accounts payable.

· Accounts Payable:

  • Maintain required ledgers, logs, and batch documents related payables.

· Purchase Card (P-Card) Processing:

  • Receive credit card purchases for the agency via a code, review, and approve process.

· Employee Travel Processing:

  • Receive travel expenses for financial coding, review, and approval.

    Minimum Qualifications:

· Good Knowledge of: Financial Record Keeping.

· Experience: Researching and compiling financial information and preparing summaries and reports; using personal computers to enter, retrieve, and edit financial data.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit and work on a computer for 2-4 hours at a time.

• Ability to bend and reach for filing purposes.

• Some periods of heavy reading and typing are required.

• Ability to lift 30 pounds when working with file boxes.

Other Requirements:

· Some travel may be required
