As a Sr. Category Supplier Manager for Construction Category, you will be responsible for developing a category strategy for managed categories, validating strategies with Global and Regional Category Managers/s and the respective internal partners and team members. You will be conducting strategic sourcing initiatives, plan and implement negotiations using supplier and industry analysis, benchmark and cost management. Through management of the category strategy, you will also be building trusted partnerships with internal team members, driving outstanding, cost, supply and resilience.

What’s Encouraged Daily:

Category Management & Strategic Sourcing

  • Recommend resource levels across procurement sourcing categories, projects and functions

  • Implement processes to supervise team member satisfaction with key suppliers

  • Recommend targets to enhance value such as high revenue, spend reduction, purchasing efficiency, customer services and supplier management

  • Analyze sourcing trends and make recommendations for assigned categories

  • Participate in supplier segmentation and strategic goal setting

Cost Management & Analysis

  • Identify and evaluate category-specific savings/revenue levers

  • Drive category savings/revenue and scorecard metric targets

  • Provide market intelligence and category price trends to relevant internal customers

  • Apply should-cost models for assigned categories that are benchmarked and relevant to the global marketplace

Negotiation

  • Lead or participate in negotiations for contract extensions and renewals, renegotiation of prices, transfers, etc

  • Lead sourcing events/RFQ process into bundled negotiation

  • Incorporate savings targets and contract requirements into negotiations

  • Develop sourcing strategy and drive sourcing events for construction and design, including request for quotations (RFQ) or request for proposals (RFP), negotiations with bidders and bid awards with Decision Analysis (“DA”). Close collaboration with legal, tax and risk departments. Negotiation contract for construction and design.

Business Partnering

  • Collaborate with Stakeholders to Deliver Strategic Solutions

  • Develop and maintain expertise in the assigned spend categories through relationships with key stakeholders

  • Drive customer-centric approach to solving issues and representing Procurement

Cost Management Activities for Construction Projects

  • Cost validation and bid leveling

  • Quantity Validation

  • Labor Rates Validation and Negotiation

  • Negotiate Contract Terms and Contract Administration

  • Buyout Management

  • Change Order Management

  • Reporting

  • Oversee the tendering process and opening of bids

  • Supervising the work rate and payments, and making sure they are in compliance with contracts

  • Contractor prequalification

  • Researching and identifying new products and suppliers

  • Working across departments to win best value for the company

  • Assure suppliers deliver on time

  • Keeping up with market trends and analyze market trends

  • Claim Resolution

  • Project Close Out

  • The final settlement

Lead and drive Request for Proposal and selection of General Contractor and or A/E firm for construction project and design. Review recommendation by General Contractor of Subcontractors selection. Review and bid leveling for cost of work packages, validate and review submittals from General Contractors.

You are:

  • Experienced in a category management and construction procurement, preferably in a semiconductor or high tech industry

  • Demonstrate experience in strategic sourcing

  • Strong in negotiation and communication skills

How To Qualify:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Construction Procurement, Estimator, Quantity Surveyor, Preconstruction Services, Budgeting, Cost control and cost management for construction projects.

  • Proficient in written and verbal communication and presentation skills
