We are adding a Materials Polishing & Etching Technician to our team building the World's Best Infrared Detectors. You will perform various duties in the FPA Production department related to polishing and chemical etching of materials and maintaining the cleanliness of machinery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supports polishing and chemical etching activities

  • Follows established travelers and work instructions for all work performed on hardware

  • Performs Inspection and evaluation of parts in accordance with Quality Assurance requirements

  • Documents observations and prepares parts for further processing

  • Promptly documents and reports any nonconforming events occurred from processes performed

  • Supports efforts to identify and correct root causes of nonconforming events

  • Maintains the cleanliness of the lapping machines and changes lapping pads

  • Works with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for tracking and reporting of data

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma with seven (7) to ten (10) years of experience or Associate’s Degree in related field with five (5) to seven (7) years of experience

  • Minimum of two (2) years of related experience working with semiconductor materials

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must be able to work either 1st or 2nd shift (2:00pm - 10:30pm)

  • Attention to detail and ability to accurately follow work instructions and drawings

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to ensure accurate record keeping

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including ability to construct Excel spreadsheets

  • Dexterity with tweezers for the manipulation of small parts

  • Creativity in contributing to problem solving and process improvement

  • Displays exemplary ethics and business conduct and performs work cognizant of safe work practices

Working Conditions

  • Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, solvents or toxic chemicals; use of gloves and safety glasses is required

  • Regularly works near moving mechanical parts

  • Often works during periods of time requiring an accelerated work pace or deadlines creating pressure

  • Class 10,000 lab environment

Physical and Mental Demands

  • Ability to stand and operate equipment for extended periods of time

  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk

Citizenship Requirements

  • Due to the type of work at the facility and certain access restrictions, successful applicants must be a U.S. Citizen.

Salary Range:

$35,090.00-$46,970.000
