About the Job:

An opportunity has arisen for Resident Engineer to join the team at Jumeirah Living.

Main Duties: and responsibilities of this role:

• Supervises and directs the daily activities of the Maintenance Managers

• Monitors engineering activities to ensure adherence to established policies, operating procedures and standards.

• Prepares comprehensive budgets and forecasts to ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation of the department.

• Oversees the implantation, co-ordination and monitoring of the JEMS (Jumeirah Engineering Management System). This includes the Fire, Life and Safety Matrix, PPM and work order system.

• Handles any grievances, suggestions and complaints forwarded by colleagues and recommends appropriate action.

• Conducts Regular communication meetings with engineering colleagues.

• Responsible for appraising and formalizing career development / training plans for direct reports.

• Submits a comprehensive monthly report to the General Manager/Group Director of Engineering.

• Be familiar with and comply with all relevant Engineering.

• To partake in occupational health and safety initiatives and form part of the SBU’s occupational health and safety committee.

• To perform other duties that management may from time to time reasonably require.

• Check on completed repair and maintenance works to ensure that established standards have been met.

About you:

In order to be considered for this role you will have at least two years of working experience in a similar role in a luxury five-star hotel environment.

You will have excellent written and spoken English skills, additional language is advantage. Knowledge of hotel operating systems is a must. Your experience in handling guest requests and exceeding their expectations would be regarded as essential.
