Field Service Power Gen Tech

Description

We are looking for a talented Field Service Power Generation Technician to join our Distribution Business in Fredericton, NB.

This role requires to work on all types of generators (RV - large commercial) and to service New Brunswick and PEI and other provinces if required. Work will be in shop as well as in the field, but the field will require up to 40% of the time away from the branch requiring overnight stays. This position will also require to be on call every 3-4 weeks for a week at a time.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Completing repair activities on generators or components at the customer’s site minimal direction.

• Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner

• Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools

• Maintain detailed records of service

• Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies

• Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products

• Maintain own tools

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Intermediate level of workshop related experience required.

• Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with power generation products.

• High Voltage / Low Voltage experience.

• Capable of electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision – hands on exposure to working on power generation products.

Field work will be most of the work orders (generator start up and commissioning's, load bank testing, ATS troubleshooting and repairs)

(Intermediate):

• Advanced troubleshooting and repairs of generators, transfer switches, and auxiliary components.

• Startup and repair of bypass transfer switch.

• Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation.

(Advanced):

• Setup, troubleshoot and repair basic paralleling generator systems.

• Understanding switchgear schematics.

• Able to train Entry/Intermediate Technicians.
