Position Title: CDL Pump Truck Driver Septic Tank Pumping
Location: Lewiston, ID
Pay Range: \$21 \$24
Full Time/Part Time: Full Time
Reports to: Roll Off Supervisor
Department: Collections
Status: Hourly
Overview:
This is a key position that safely and efficiently pumps out the waste from the septic tanks of the residents we serve. This role is responsible for documenting pumping activities, vehicle pre and post trip standards, providing exceptional customer service, and providing team support.
Goals:
- Maintain consistent daily septic jobs and pertinent reports
- Be a model for exceptional customer service
Responsible For:
- Operating waste/septic trucks in a safe manner, including locating septic tanks and digging while protecting the customers lawn.
- Preparing septic by measuring/cutting, and installing risers; replacing septic parts as needed such as baffles.
- Be a team member by providing feedback in a professional manner
- Conduct all activities according to the delivery and collection schedule, regularly making suggestions for improvement
- Follow and model relevant company policies and procedures
- Ensure company equipment and material is maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner
- Ensure proper operation of equipment by performing regular checks on their functionality
- Communicate regularly with supervisor to ensure timely service at the job site
- Observe and report equipment or mechanical failures immediately
- Complete minor repairs on vehicles and machinery as required
- Conduct daily pre and post-trip inspections of the vehicle at the end of the shift and report any problems or damage to management
- Comply with all DOT and in-house regulations and rules
- Provide valuable input and suggestions regarding customer service, routing or other procedures pertaining to the Septic truck routes/jobs.
- Maintain a professional appearance and adheres to driver uniform requirements
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Valid drivers license
- Possess a Class A or B Commercial drivers license, in good standing with a Tanker Endorsement.
- Must be able to drive a manual transmission
- Problem solving skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- No serious tickets or accidents in the last 3 years
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong documentation and speaking skills
- Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
- Background check results satisfactory to INW
- Negative drug test result(s)
- Maintain professional standards reflective of INW values
Physical Requirements
- Lift and maneuver 50 pounds
- Lift, push, pull, bend, reach, twist, stoop, etc.
- Use and climb a ladder
- Must be able to work in noise
- Must be able to drive in all seasons
- Must have ability to stand or sit for at least 8 hours
