Move forward in your career by applying to become a Title IV-E Medicaid Eligibility Specialist for the Northern Region,Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS),making initial and continuing Title IV-E and Medicaid eligibility determinations for Foster Care children in accordance with Federal,State,DHHS and DCFS policy and regulations. Principal Duties Title IV-E Medicaid Eligibility Specialists perform the following tasks: 

• Collecting and reviewing client information to determine client's/applicant's eligibility and options.
• Preparing and/or processing documents; reviewing for accuracy and completeness; updating information and/or evaluating against policy; comparing elements for consistency or logical relationships,etc.
• Referring clients to other available services to meet needs where appropriate.
• Consulting with Division staff regarding eligibility requirements when necessary.
• Maintaining and/or creating files or record keeping systems; sorting,labeling,filing,and retrieving documents,and/or other materials.
• Entering data into relevant databases such as EREP,MMIS and SAFE.

Ideal Candidate The model candidate for this position:

• Has excellent computer skills and technologically savvy required
• Has organization skills,strong oral,written,and interpersonal communications skills; and a strong commitment to customer service
• Is detail oriented
• Is able to weigh the relative costs and benefits of a potential action

Preference Preference may be given for experience in or knowledge of Title IV-E and Medicaid and/or two or more years experience working in government or public programs.
