Bicycle Mechanic

Summary

The bicycle mechanic will ensure the mechanic safety of our bikes for guest usage.

Job Duties • Assemble new bikes and perform quality control checks• Ability to match customers with the bike, equipment and accessories that best fit their physical needs and ability levels• Repair bikes to the highest of standards, including assessing damage and estimating repairs (from complete overhauls to quick walk-in repairs)• Conduct routine and preventative maintenance on bicycles (e.g., cleaning, changing tires, make adjustments).• Keep a detailed service log and input all maintenance documentation on software for tracking and inventory management• Respond to customer requests for assistance or repairs.• Maintain proper maintenance inventory and supplies.• Ability to diagnose bike issues and recommend additional parts & labor when necessary• Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications.• Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines (e.g., to identify defects).• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time. • Attention to customer service with a professional and pleasant personality.• Available to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.• Maintain a clean and tidy workspace• Ability to train staff on bike repairs

REQUIREMENTS • Working knowledge of how bikes are assembled and repaired • Familiarity with all types of bikes and bike accessories • 1+ years of work experience with bicycles (electric or not) • Experience with assembly and maintenance of electric components of a bike
