The Senior Manager of SaaS Portfolio Strategy is responsible for managing a team of Sr. Strategic Planning Analysts in crafting the long-term roadmap for Siemens’ industrial software portfolio. Partnering closely with members of strategy, product management, and marketing teams, this individual will build a comprehensive strategy and portfolio plan for all of Siemens’ industrial SaaS offerings. In this pursuit, the Senior Manager will also be responsible for developing market insights, quantifying financial opportunities, and aligning product release plans within a common business model framework to deliver shared value to customers, partners, and Siemens as a whole.

In crafting these strategic plans, the Senior Manager of SaaS Portfolio Strategy will conduct in-depth market research on Software as a Service (SaaS) trends in the marketplace, develop business proposals to support portfolio investments, and contribute to complex projects in the area of strategic portfolio planning and development. To be successful in this role, the Senior Manager of SaaS Portfolio Strategy will demonstrate strong levels of collaboration, influence, and decision-making to forge alignment and agreements in a matrixed environment including strategy & marketing, product management, sales, finance, and business operations teams. Additionally, this role will develop the skills of the Strategic Planning team by demonstrating leadership, developing individualized skills and proficiencies, and enabling team members to become trusted advisors to their partners.

Essential Functions:

  • Leads all planning efforts for solution domains, working closely with product segments, industry leaders and strategy development organization

  • Supports the creation of business cases involving detailed market analysis, opportunity definition, and financial modeling to uphold investment in key initiatives

  • Partners with key stakeholders in go-to-market functions to define growth opportunities and assemble inbound requirements

  • Standardizes internal segment planning efforts and streamlines their integration with overarching portfolio plan

  • Has working understanding of financial statements and financial performance

  • Supports investment/divestment planning as part of the annual budgeting process aligned to long-term strategic goals

  • Develops a deep understanding of Siemen's software domains, its customers, use cases and markets served

Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Broad understanding of Software as a Service (SaaS) business models and best-in-class trends

  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing software solutions, including Siemens’ industrial software portfolio and competitors’ solutions

  • Proven success leading cross-functional teams and presenting to key leaders across various departments

  • Ability to clearly communicate and represent data verbally and via presentation and to tailor the message for target audiences

  • Self-starter able to lead multiple projects simultaneously

  • Excellent teammate possessing critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Desire to think strategically and implement tactically

Education and Experience Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Marketing Data Analytics, Engineering, or other technical subject area

  • 7+ years of professional experience working in product marketing strategy with technical, engineering or specialized software

  • 3+ years of proven experience managing teams

  • Strong technical acumen and understanding of product development process

  • Proficient in developing financial models, revenue modeling, and other market analyses

  • MBA preferred, but not required

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

  • Hybrid remote/office work options

  • Preferred locations: greater Portland, OR; Detroit, MI; Plano, TX; Cincinnati, OH; Seattle, WA

  • Minimal travel required: 5-10%

This position will be subject to U.S. export control requirements under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Employment is contingent on either verifying the U.S. Person status or obtaining any necessary export license.

The salary range for this position is $140,100 to $252,200 and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate’s work location as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
