Terex/Genie Weld Specialist/Welder in Redmond, Washington

Step Grid Salary Range: $26.17 -- 32.58/ hour

  • Automatic Wage Progression based on service time provided attendance/performance are within good standing

Work Schedules as Follows:

  • 4/10's (Mon -- Thurs)

  • 5:00 am -- 3:30 pm PT

  • 5:30 am -- 4:00 pm PT

    • Required overtime (OT) as needed

      • Current OT rates are 15 to 18 hours per pay period, which is biweekly

A Welding Specialist performs welding operations in a fast-paced environment in workstations that have required cycle times.  Team Members work in a culture that thrives on lean manufacturing principles both on and off the production line.

Responsibilities

  • The welding specialist performs welding operations, loads/unloads parts and weldments into variety of welding fixtures, depending on the production team needs

  • Reviews blueprints and other schematic drawings to ensure proper weld sizes, lengths are used on weldments

  • Arranges parts and structures of common weldments, usually guided by patterns or fixtures.  Verifies that layouts comply with drawings and symbols

  • Verifies accuracy of weldments by comparing to measurement specifications

  • Prepares welding equipment for proper usage and verifies proper energy source and supplies

  • Prepares the layout of equipment to perform as needed.  Moves equipment into proper location to maximize safety, function, and quality

  • Assures that welds conform to Genie quality standards and product specifications

  • Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position

Required Qualifications

Requires a basic technical knowledge of Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG) welding techniques and setup, verification, and operation of welding equipment

Requires sufficient welding skill to comply with Genie quality standards and product specifications

Requires a basic knowledge of blueprint layouts and symbols.  Requires a working knowledge of Genie quality principles, safe work habits, and continuous improvement methods

Requires skill at resolving workstation-related problems affecting equipment, production, or quality

Requires sufficient interpersonal communication and collaboration skills to convey information and maintain good working relations with team members
