Job Responsibilities/Duties

The Ethics and Compliance Investigator Project Specialist is responsible for assisting in the continued development, implementation, and operation of the Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS) Ethics and Compliance Program. The position will also provide assistance to WRPS management and the Risk Finance and Audit Committee (RFAC) to enable WRPS to continue to operate according to the highest ethical business standards and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

The Ethics & Compliance Investigator Project Specialist reports to the Ethics & Compliance Program Manager and will have primary responsibility for conducting investigations related to ethics, conflict of interest, fraud, and other issues as assigned. In addition, the position will assist with the Conflict-of-Interest program and the Ethics and Compliance Program as a whole.

The Ethics and Compliance Investigator Project Specialist will have primary responsibility for the following:

  • Conducts investigations and analysis of potential Ethics & Compliance violations.

  • Prepare investigation reports.

  • Briefing Management including Senior Leadership on investigation results.

  • Facilitate continued implementation and operation of the Ethics & Compliance program.

  • Promote an organizational culture that encourages ethical conduct and commitment to compliance with laws and regulations.

  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities to support WRPS Ethics & Compliance programs

  • Coordinate with other programs (e.g., Employee Concerns Program, Legal Investigations, Human Resources, Departmental Compliance Programs) to avoid duplication of effort (i.e., performing similar investigations) and ensure consistency in meeting compliance objectives.

Additional duties may include:

  • Assisting in administration of the Conflict-of-Interest Program by performing data analytics over WRPS wide Ethics & Compliance initiatives, assisting with the development of mitigation plans and assisting in the preparation of training materials for all employees.

  • Facilitating the implementation of the company-wide code of conduct and associated compliance program that supports the Corporation's requirement to maintain an ethical work environment.

  • Assisting in updates to the Code of Conduct.

  • Prepare reports to communicate ethics and compliance activities and issues for Company senior management and the RFAC to the BOM.

  • Networking with peer group companies and professional trade associations to understand and adapt best practices.

  • Evaluating specific operations at the request of the BOM or management, as appropriate.

  • Developing and presenting ethics shares, communications and training.

  • Reporting alleged violations of law, regulations, or policy, including incidents of fraud, waste, abuse, misuse, corruption, criminal acts, or mismanagement, that have been referred to the Federal, State, or local law enforcement entities are reported to the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Office of the Inspector General (OIG) within 24 hours.

Required Qualifications

Grade 16:

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in related field and 5 (five) years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Grade 17:

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in related field and 6-7 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Grade 18:

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in related field and 8 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Desired Qualifications

  • Professional Certification such as Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE); Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP);

  • Investigation and interviewing experience in programs such as Ethics & Compliance, Human Resources or Employee Concerns Program, social work, or law enforcement.

  • A degree in Human Resources, Psychology, social work, business, criminal justice or related field.

Compensation & Benefits

Grade 16:

Hiring Range Minimum: $86,138

Hiring Range Maximum: $108,513

Grade 17:

Hiring Range Minimum: $94,650

Hiring Range Maximum: $119,250

Grade 18:

Hiring Range Minimum: $104,175

Hiring Range Maximum: $131,425

In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, WRPS takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made within the targeted hiring range posted. Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.
