This position is responsible for collecting fees or payments from customers purchasing goods and services. The incumbent prepares the appropriate documentation to record transactions. This position has no responsibility for providing care to patients.

Responsibilities

  • Collects money and returns change to customers.

  • Counts money collected during shift, balances it with tickets or items sold, and submits to the supervisor for review.

  • Provides directions and answers general questions about parking permits, policies, merchandise, theater productions, etc.

  • Opens and closes facilities at the beginning and end of shifts.

  • Cleans work area by sweeping floors, wiping off machines and counters.

  • May assist at special events.

  • May perform clerical tasks such as answering phones, responding to mail, or filing.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined above.

  • Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills.

  • Demonstrated basic mathematical skills.

  • Ability to give directions and respond to general questions.

  • Ability to be responsible for the handling and safekeeping of cash during the shift.

  • Ability to use discretion, when necessary, to exchange seats, reprint tickets, or issue replacement tickets.

  • Skills in word processing and spreadsheets.

  • This is a position that may exert up to 10 pounds and may lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. This position may involve standing or sitting for long periods of time and is not exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
