University of Utah Nuclear Medicine Physician, Assistant, A in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah

The University of Utah Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Physician with subspecialty training in nuclear medicine, molecular imaging, and theranostics to join our rapidly growing Nuclear Medicine section. As a full-time physician, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact in the field through education, innovative research projects, and clinical services. Our team of experienced nuclear medicine physicians including internationally renowned leaders in the field provides excellent patient care, covering a wide range of nuclear medicine services. The academic appointment will be at a rank commensurate with training and experience.Qualifications:The ideal candidate should be American Board of Nuclear Medicine or American Board of Radiology - Nuclear Radiology certified or eligible, with a strong interest and experience in academic radiology. Exceptional clinical and interpersonal skills are required, along with prior evidence of research productivity and education efforts. You will be expected to actively engage in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, initiate research projects, and participate in quality improvement and value initiatives.Facilities and Institution: You will have access to state-of-the-art imaging resources, including multiple PET-CTs, multiple MRIs, dual-energy CTs, intraoperative MRI, and MR-guided focused ultrasound for clinical work and research. Pre-clinical imaging resources, such as micro PET-MRI and 7T MRI, are also available. Research opportunities abound, with a broad case mix from the sources described above, as well as the unique world-class support provided by the Utah Center for Advanced Imaging Research (UCAIR) in the Department and the Huntsman Cancer Institute.The Nuclear Medicine section provides diagnostic imaging and theranostics services at the University Hospital and Huntsman Cancer Hospital, an NCI-designated premier cancer center. Our section has a rich history of nuclear medicine developments, including the invention of Tc-99m MAG3 in the late 80s and the adoption of theranostics for the first time in the State of Utah. Our department is known for excellence in clinical care, education, and research and offers an outstanding residency program in Diagnostic Radiology and Interventional Radiology.The University of Utah Health Sciences offers various leadership programs and research training opportunities for faculty members.
