The Hans Haecker lab in the Department of Pathology Division of Microbiology & Immunology has an immediate opening for a postdoctoral fellow to study inflammatory signaling pathways (TLR-, IL17R-families) and developing small molecule inhibitors. University of Utah Health was ranked 19th out of 100 top health care institutions worldwide for scientific research by the Nature Index.Haecker Lab has a long-standing interest in Innate Immunity and Signal Transduction. In previous work, we identified and characterized various components of the TLR signaling pathways, and also developed an innovative drug screening platform to identify small molecules with TLR-inhibitory activity using high throughput screening (HTS). See Science Signaling 2018 and ChemMedChem 2018.We are currently extending this HTS approach to other key inflammatory receptors, including the IL-17R family. The focus of this preclinical drug development project is to utilize HTS to identify small molecule hits for exploration of inflammatory signaling pathways and possible starting point for further drug development.
