Job purpose

The purpose of the Benefit Analyst is to support the Account Executives, Advisors and Sr. Benefit Analyst with quoting, reporting and other strategic analytic processes. This position works as an integral part of the Sales and Account Executive Teams and has the responsibility to maintain excellent relationships both internally and externally with HUB clients and vendors.The Benefit Analyst serves an integral role in helping to increase profitability of existing product lines through the proposal process.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Responsible for the new and renewal submission and implementation as it relates to the quoting process.

  • Involved with increasing profitability of existing product lines by educating Advisors and Account Executives to use added value services wherever possible.

  • Quoting new and renewal groups with 20+ eligible employees.

  • Support Account Executive with data gathering of benchmarking, strategic planning and reporting duties.

  • Attend carrier sales meetings, trainings, and webinars.

  • Growing lines of business (organic growth).

  • Maintaining detailed knowledge of new and existing products and relaying between carriers, Account Executives & Advisors.

  • Communication and coordination with the carriers and internal HUB Team.

  • Expert user in BenAdmin, workflow, carrier and proposal systems.

  • Perform research and problem resolution of data issues using multiple systems, tools and resources.

  • Maintains positive relationships both internally and externally.

  • Maintain HUB Values including HIPPA Compliance.

  • Ensures we’re meeting HUB turn-around times as outlined in the KPIs.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of new processes and procedures.

  • Back up the Benefit Analyst ll as needed.

  • Assist with processing of new broker or record requests.

  • Responsible for the creation and deployment of Benefit and Enrollment guides.

  • Responsible for updating Benefit Point with all renewal decisions and keeping Benefit Point up-to-date for assigned clients.

  • Responsible for entering new clients into Benefit Point and maintaining Benefit Point records.

  • Support sales team in creation of sales presentations and gathering relevant sales slicks and other auxiliary marketing materials required.

Qualifications

Work experience:

  • 2 years working for a carrier or brokerage firm.

Education:

  • High School Diploma

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office – intermediate to expert user level preferred.

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Ability to work well under pressure with attention to detail

  • Team oriented self-starter with ability to prioritize, monitor and control workflow deadlines and be flexible

  • Detail oriented

  • Sense of urgency

Knowledge and Skills Continued

  • Understanding of benefits & benefit terminology

  • Proficient typing ability

  • High degree of independence and problem-solving skills

  • Accurate completion of quote requests/changes, which includes follow-up with carriers and team

Working conditions

Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
