Safety-Kleen Manager Refinery Operations in Sanford, North Carolina

We have an exciting opportunity for a Refinery Operations Manager at our Sanford, NC facility. We are looking for a production-minded individual to work cross functionally with all departments to support and ensure plant operations, safety, environmental compliance, and quality.Responsible for overseeing the operations of used oil re-refining process including associated tank farms and utilities functions. Main point of contact between shipping/receiving, maintenance and laboratory groups. Ensures health and safety, quality and environment and production goals are meet. Manages operating expenditures (i.e., catalyst, chemicals).

  • Manages the selection of hydro treating catalyst

  • Participates in shutdown planning activities, process troubleshooting, monitoring and analysis of process data

  • Key player in lines of communication between management and the operations group staff

  • Responsible for hiring, training, coaching, evaluation and discipline of staff

  • Ensures process operation within safe operating limits, compliance with all regulatory, permit and corporate EH&S requirements and ISO quality standards

  • Oversee and participate in ongoing preparation, revision and approval of SOP's for refinery

  • Other Duties as Assigned

What does it take to work at Noble Oil Services, Inc.?

  • Bachelor Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred

  • 5-7 years’ experience as a lead, foreman or manager in an industrial plant type setting in lieu of degree

  • 3+ years in a production driven environment leading

  • Strong technical aptitude with respect to refining operations and production

  • Experience in the petroleum or chemical processing industry is a plus!

  • Proven ability to motivate and lead operations group members.

  • Production and safety minded team player with a servant leadership mentality

  • Ability to plan, organize, make decisions and handle multiple priorities with minimal supervision

  • Computer savvy

  • MS Office Suite – Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers

  • Must be able to climb, stoop, bend, stand for long periods and lift up to 50lbs
