About this Position The Montana Heritage Commission preserves and manages historic resources in Virginia City, Nevada City and Reeder’s Alley and promotes the appreciation of history through quality visitor experiences. The Executive Director for the Montana Heritage Commission (MHC) is responsible for budgeting, administering grants, ensuring program effectiveness, managing historical properties and leases including managing necessary maintenance on properties and overseeing MHC marketing and promotion. The position is responsible for ensuring program support, allocating resources, regular evaluation and reporting, and fiscal management. This position manages 4 FTE, 3 short term aggregate positions, contractors and temporary services workers and is supervised concurrently by the Commission and the Department of Commerce. This position is based in Virginia City, MT and the selected applicant should expect daily travel to Virginia City and Nevada City as part of their duties. /This position is open until filled.
